What is the ruling of using interest money received from the bank accounts to fund charitable organizations as well as giving it to the poor and the needy directly?
Question
It is permissible to accept the interest money from the bank account and distribute it to the poor and the needy, Muslims and non-Muslims. It is wrong to leave it in the hands of payers (conventional banks) because they are Riba dealers. The interest given is treated as a property that has no owner which then must be given to the poor and needy rather than wasted.
