Divorce: Painful Reality To Children

While married life is treated as private and confidential for individuals we may however point that the many divorces taking place on daily basis creates unprecedented pain to children.

Islam advocates marriage making it a religious duty. Consequently, marriage is a moral safeguard and social necessity. It is a social necessity whereby families are established as fundamental units of societies.

Ideally, the purpose of marriage is to foster a state of tranquility, love, and compassion. But why is this not always the case? Why cases of divorce increase?

With couples divorcing, the fabric and fundamental units of human society is endangered. Sadly, divorce is a painful reality to children, as their relationship with each parent is constantly being tested and redefined. We may understand the reasons of divorce but children ought to be considered.

Advisably, as provided by Islam, divorce should not be the first option when misunderstanding between couples arises.

We should not let family problems grow and remain unresolved and later come as a bombshell. Marriages ought to have arbitrators, who should be called in to diffuse tension.
