We should make it a habit to beseech Allah’s forgiveness. There are numerous benefits for doing so. Allah Ta’ala says: Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft- Forgiving. (71:10) Life is good to those who are righteous and Allah’s fearing. It is also good to those who return to Allah in repentance, asking forgiveness, and compensating for our sins by engaging in good deeds. This is because when we seek forgiveness, it protects us from persisting in sin.
